At Integrative Veterinary Care, Dr Barry Hindmarch and his team offer personalised, complementary veterinary care for your pet. The first consultation involves a detailed case history. The aim is to find the root cause/s of your pet’s health challenges. Treatments are tailored to your pet’s individual needs and may include dietary changes, acupuncture, laser, homoeopathy and/or herbal medicine.
Treatment plans include, where appropriate, liaising with your regular veterinarian or veterinary specialist and any pharmaceutical medicines your pet may need to take.
At a time when high-technology medicine is pushing back barriers in diagnosing and treating disease, natural medicine is also enjoying a remarkable renaissance. Integrative Veterinary Care aims to provide an integrated, holistic approach to animal health care. As such it sees itself as complementary to general veterinary practices.
Complementary therapies aim to mobilise self-healing processes to restore the harmonious working of the physical and biochemical elements of the body and mind.
Acuvet Clinic, now Integrative Veterinary Care, was founded in August 1999. It was one of the first within South Africa to offer a referral service for holistic therapies.
When other vets give up either because they have reached the limits of what they can offer or because your pet is starting to suffer seriously from the side effects of treatment, we offer the knowledge and experience to try a different approach.
If your pet has a twinkle in their eye or a wag in their tail, there is hope.
